Must-win game for Delhi Daredevils

Delhi Daredevils cannot afford another loss and face a must-win game against Bangalore Royal Challengers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Chinnaswamy stadium on Monday.

The Daredevils lost their last match against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday and are currently occupying fifth place in the IPL standings with 10 points from 11 matches.

The last two matches of the Daredevils are against Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders - both of whom are also fighting for semifinal berths - and to stay in contention the Delhi team need a big win against the Royal Challengers.

The Daredevils though would not be unduly bothered by their loss in their last game against the Kings XI Punjab as they were clearly on top of their opponents for most part of the game and had it not been for the rain, the match could have very well gone their way.

Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir were in blistering form and at one moment the Daredevils were eyeing a score of more than 200 before rain interrupted the proceedings.

"We do not have any control over the weather. We could have very well crossed 200 and that would have been difficult to chase for Kings XI," a disappointed Sehwag said after the match.

Daredevils were not only good with the bat, they also fielded well and took some brilliant catches and that would be motivation enough to go all guns blazing against the Royal Challengers.

Royal Challengers, on the other hand, are placed at the bottom of the table and are stumbling from one defeat to another. They have lost eight of their 10 matches and are currently lying at the bottom of the table.

Though they are already out of the semifinal race, the Challengers certainly would like to finish their IPL campaign with some wins under their belt. Challengers captain Rahul Dravid is under pressure to perform but things are not moving their way. They would like to bring some cheer for the home crowd.
