Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been approached by director Shankar to star opposite none other than Rajnikanth for his forthcoming venture Robot. Shankar was very keen to have Ash in the lead and approached her, but Ash has not given her nod yet. Right now, she is busy going through the script of the role. She is also awaiting the release of the much-talked about epic Jodhaa Akbar and is also spending time with hubby Abhishek at Jaipur on the sets of Drona. She has also finished shooting for Pink Panther 2 and has her hands full with Ben Kingsley’s Taj Mahal and Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 2.
Robot is a Rs 100-crore budgeted film and has a lot of special effects and is backed by Sony Pictures. Sources reveal that earlier Deepika Padukone was approached, but since the actress demanded a huge sum, the director backed out. A source says, “Robot is a science fiction film and Rajnikanth plays the role of a scientist who invents a new robot that is expected to work for the good of humanity. However, the robot develops a mind of its own and works against the human race. The story reveals how the scientist saves the world.”
